Be Clear When Negotiating

When in negotiation, be sure to be clear in your communication. Do not assume that the other party gets it as you do. Ask and clarify to make sure you are both on the same page. Oftentimes, communication gets lost when both parties assume what the other party understands…and then blame each other for not fulfilling something they thought they both agree on. Perspectives differ. Perceptions differ. So ask, clarify and repeat to make sure that what is negotiated is what is agreed.
